Law 12 of 48
Disarm Your Victim With Honesty and Generosity.
Use sincerity and acts of kindness to disarm and gain the trust of your intended target or adversary. Employ honesty and generosity as strategic tools to lower their defenses and foster goodwill towards you. By appearing genuine and benevolent, you can manipulate the perceptions and emotions of others, making them more receptive to your influence and less likely to oppose your objectives.

What it actually means
One honest admission buys more trust than a hundred true statements, which is exactly why it gets used as a technique. The tell is timing: candour that lands just before a request, or a favour out of proportion to the relationship. Genuine generosity does not need you to notice that it happened.
Where you would have seen it
A supplier opens the meeting by admitting a flaw in his own product. You relax, stop checking, and sign without reading the renewal clause. The flaw he named was the cheap one to fix.
Try it today
Before agreeing to anything today, note what the other person did for you in the previous ten minutes and make the decision again without it.
